University of Leicester ISC

University of Leicester位於萊斯特郡Leicestershire，離倫敦約一小時車程，此校是一所比較專注研究的大學，所以University of Leicester在 The Times 大學世界排名200名內。

University of Leicester目前共有四大學院，分別是人文藝術與法律學院、醫學生物科學暨心理學學院、科學工程學院以及社會科學學院，並以基因研究、生物化學、博物館學以及心血管研究聞名於國際學術界。在基因研究上，University of Leicester教授Sir Alec John Jeffreys於1984年發現基因指紋，進而衍生出革命性的生物與基因研究發展。博物館研究所（School of Museum Studies）則長年獲得英國國家學術研究評鑑評為該領域第一的學術機構。

傳統上學生需要比較傑出的成績才可進入University of Leicester的一年級課程，但University of Leicester明白到國際學生可能只在學術英語水平上比較不足，並不代表學生不能勝任大學的課程，所以他們開設國際學習中心International Study Centre(ISC)，此中心提供途徑給國際學生進入University of Leicester，學生在ISC讀書時會接受教授教導及使用大學的設施。

Excellent learning environment
As an ISC student you will be taught in St. Georges Tower, which with its modern classrooms and cutting-edge facilities, provides an excellent learning environment for international students. You’ll also have access to an extensive range of facilities on the University campus, including the library, sports facilities and Students’ Union. This means that you will be part of the University from the beginning of your programme.

Individual attention from expert teachers
We limit our class sizes so that you receive individual attention from our highly-experienced, expert tutors. You’ll participate in tutorials, seminars and lectures which will simulate the style of teaching you will experience on your degree at University. By the end of the programme you will be well prepared for university study and have the skills you will need to succeed.

Ongoing support and guidance
For some students, joining the ISC is their first time living in a different country. As soon as you arrive, you’ll feel welcome within our international community. We’ll do everything we can to help you settle into your new environment, and work with you to ensure you fulfil your potential, do well in your studies and get the results you need.
