|Business – Mr. Corey
Mr. Corey has worked in banking and is now a working teacher. He studied Economics at the University of Leeds, then completed a PGCE at the University of Bristol.
Biology – Aaron
Aaron is an excellent teacher. He attended York University and has taught at QEH Bristol and is currently at Giggleswick School, two leading independent schools in the UK. He is very experienced at online teaching and he has youthful enthusiasm for Biology.
Chemistry – Dr. Colin
Dr. Colin teaches at a top independent school. He did BSc at Glasgow University and my PhD at London University and my PGCE at Cambridge University
Chinese – Ms. Suzy
Ms. Suzy studied at Shanghai university and has gone on to work in a variety of educational environments including teaching mandarin and Chinese at a prestigious college in the UK.
Computer Science – Mr. Ian
Ian is head of faculty at an independent school in Cardiff. As a teacher of ICT and Computing he likes to bring his experiences to the classroom and bring the subject alive. He uses new teaching methods particularly with the use of modern technologies. He has a BSC and a PGCE from Cardiff University and has experience working at two of the leading independent schools in the South West of England.
English – Harriet
Harriet is a UK native speaker. She is an ambitious and creative teacher with experience in a variety of educational settings and is currently teaching A Level English at a leading independent school in the South West. She studied at Canterbury University in Christchurch, New Zealand. For recent performance management she was rated outstanding. Harriet has been involved with helping students with entrance exams for a number of years and has also marked them for her school. Harriet has a track record of excellent results.
Economics – Robert
Robert is an Economics graduate from Hanover University, Germany. He is a bilingual, English/German. He has been tutoring Economics every year since September 2004. IHe has been employed by Bath Academy as Economics teacher since January 2011. He has taught GCSE, AS and A2-level students in small groups and one-to-one, and university preparation courses in classes of up to 15 students. He has taught the AQA, Edexcel, and OCR syllabuses. Most of the individual students were re-sitting exams, most of whom improved their grade, often significantly.
French – Jenny
Jenny is an outstanding teacher who has been head of languages at a top independent school in the UK and in Singapore for a number of years. She is experienced in teaching French to international students and has an excellent track record. Jenny can teach from Primary, through KS3 to IGCSE, IB and A level.
Geography – Sian
Sian has a BA in Geography from Southampton University and a Phd at Exeter University. She is an experienced teacher of Geography through to A Level.
History – Ben
He has a first class degree and masters in Ancient History from the University of Exeter. He has been Head of History at Downside for 2 years and offers History at any level up to and including A Level. He has been teaching over zoom since lockdown, so is familiar with online teaching, and is particularly adept at preparing students for public examinations - the history results at Downside have been consistently excellent over the past 5 years
Stuart has 12 years of Classroom Maths experience, two stints as Head of Maths, including at the prestigious Bedales School. Stuart has a strong track record of getting students their target grade in examinations. He studied Economics at the University of Portsmouth.
Physics – Paul
Qualified Teacher of Physics and science of 10 years experience teaching in schools and private tuition of many students for 7 years. He is a regular physics tutor who has been interviewed and DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked. He has a track record of getting students to improve their grades.
