GCE A-Level 是一個全球認可的中學考試證書，也稱為A-Level。A-Level是英國中學的最後兩個學年，主要是準備學生進入英國各間大學的學士學位課程，多數由預科學校Sixth Form Colleges提供的，第一年稱為Lower Sixth，第二年稱為Upper Sixth。在兩年制課程中，專研3-4科專科。大部份英國大學的入學要求都需要同學正式完成高考A-Level課程，而一些競爭較大的學系如醫科、法律及工程等，優秀的A-Level成績更是必需的。由於英國高考A-Level課程及評核歷史悠久，香港及其它國家的大學也認可 GCE A-Level的成績作為入學要求，所以部份香港學生透過修讀A-Level ，然後申請非聯招(NON-JUPAS)來進入香港的大學。
考試方法
2015年開始，英國的A-Level科目分階段改制，分開AS 或A2 考試，AS成為獨立資格，成績不會計入A2考試：
首年是第1階段：先選修4－5科。學生可自由選擇報考AS考試。
第2年是第2階段的高級程度（A2），學生可棄修1科，以最小3科成績報考英國大學。

申請英國大學時，大學會將學生的AL成績換算為UCAS Tariff Points，以審批其入學資格。各成績的比重及UCAS Tariff Points的換算分數如下：
