Queen Ethelburga’s College

Queen Ethelburga’s College 創建於1912年，是其中一所知名的私立寄宿學校。位於英國約克郡中部，有著百年的傳統歷史，設有College 及 Faculty兩個分部去教授不同類型課程給不同需要的學生。

學院自成立以來便以優良的教學傳統、激勵性的學習環境、高品質的學習設施、以及卓越的升學成績 而成為英國著名的寄宿學校之一，同時於國際享有不錯的聲譽。學生於預科可選修A-level或BTEC課程，學術成績經常在英國北部稱冠。學校在公開考試表現非常優秀，學校亦提供專業升學輔導，令到大部份畢業生都可以憑佳績升讀包括劍橋、牛津等英國著名大學。

校園設施亦極盡完善，QE被譽為英國以至歐洲設施最優勝的學校之一，由優質旳室內大型綜合體育館，以至媲美酒店級數的學生宿舍，以使國際學生在投入學術研究同時，生活水平亦得到不錯提升。

Queen Ethelburga’s Collegiate Foundation comprises four schools and a kindergarten, each with its unique qualities, but all sharing a common purpose of providing students with a first class education and the opportunity to work towards higher education and a successful career. There are strong academic standards across the Foundation and students are encouraged to have high expectations for their achievement and career prospects. There is a very wide curriculum available, which enables students to pursue their individual interests and aspirations across a range of fields, alongside a vast array of extra-curricular opportunities which enable students to widen their experience and gain both skills and confidence. Visitors to QE often remark on the productive and cheerful atmosphere that pervades and the purposefulness of the pupils as they enjoy the considerable opportunities that the environment provides. Queen Ethelburga’s College & The Faculty of Queen Ethelburga’s 基本是同一間學校，在學校內不會分開那些是College 或 Faculty，學校範圍之大，規模之大，實在是寄宿學校內罕見的，校園設備先進，讓日校生及寄宿生都體驗到校園生活的樂趣，當然學術要求非常高，聽學生說：老師都會工作到晚上9時才回家。
即使學生人數眾多，仍然是實施小班制，我看到Sixth Form 的生物課仍是8 – 10 人一班。GCSE 課室約15-16人一班。
QE學生告訴我：學校自由度很高，除Form Teacher，科目主任及House Teacher多，亦有不同的?導老師協助學生跟上進度，即使某些科目不如意，其它老師亦會知道及跟進。
