What is the SAT?

The SAT is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United Stated. It tests your knowledge of reading, writing and math. Most students take the SAT during their junior or senior year of high school, and almost all colleges and universities use the SAT to make admission decisions.

SAT test is divided into SAT Reasoning Test and SAT Subject Test. The total score is 600 - 2400 points, consisting of three parts of 800 points (mathematics, critical reading, writing). SAT test is a requirement for admission to many American universities, especially the top world-class private universities such as Harvard, Yale, Stanford University and so on.

 

SAT Test Date

The SAT is offered internationally in October, December, March, and May. SAT Subject Tests are available internationally in October, November, December, May, and June.

Oscar is a Medicine student at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He graduated from Diocesan Boys’ School, where he studied IB with final score 42. He also scored 800 in the SAT subject tests including Mathematics II, Chemistry, Biology M and Chinese.

Over the past two years, Oscar has tutored students from schools including CIS, Shatin College, DBS, and SPCC. Oscar mainly teaches Biology, Chemistry and Maths. Many students tackle tests or exams by memorizing everything but Oscar helps students understand the logic and thought process behind the content, which is more efficient and leads a better understanding. This could help students answer any type of questions and is invaluable for future learning.

Carmen lived in Canada since she was 3 years old. She obtained her BSc degree Mathematics and Chemistry from the University of Alberta.  Recently, she further earned a MSc degree in Biochemistry.  She has over four years of tutoring experience in Canada and two years of teaching experience at the University of Alberta.  Carmen mainly teaches English, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics (junior high, senior high (including AP/IB/SAT) and undergraduate level).  She tailors her teaching style according to her students' needs.  Aside from core academia, her other objective is to guide students to unleash their full potential and choose the best educational career path.

Ms. Cheung graduated from University of Nottingham with a BA Finance, Accounting and Management degree. Over the past 10 years, Ms. Cheung has tutored 50+ IB/GCE/(I)GCSE/SAT students from international schools in Hong Kong including CIS, LPCUWC, HKIS, KGV and Harrow School and top tier primary and secondary schools, for instance St. Paul's Co-Educational College, St. Joseph's College, Diocesan Girls' School, Marymount Secondary School and Wah Yan College Hong Kong.

Ms.Cheung is patient and she enjoys teaching language system and essay writing particularly in Business.
